if you are VERY amateuristic as you say yourself I would stay with my software, no? allthough if u have plenty money to throw with, I would consider it... choice is up to you ;D BTW, if u are planning on posting on this forum you'd better do it in English or your posts may be deleted read the NEW MEMBERS SECTION

go hardware!!! it's so much cooler to tweak a drum computer than loading some samples in FL etc... If you want to make complicated music with loadz of fx you'll need a fast computer & soundcard, which ain't cheap aswell. If you want to control your software externally you'll also have to buy a midi-controller But, on the other hand, once you buy some hardware, it never ends. Cuz if you want to make hard beats - you need a drum computer - then you have to buy a distortion pedal or something similir to trash it up - if you want effects on your music you still have to buy them On the other hand, if you got a decent soundcard you can use your pc as fx processor If you have spare money I'd definitely say buy some hardware, nothing fancy, just something to get you started. What's your budget??? if you have 'bout 600 euro (sorry if this is a bit overblown ;D) left I'd buy a korg electribe SX I'm planning on buying one of them myself next month. If you don't have the money for the sx try buying a 2nd hand Electribe ES (should be about 200 € ---- new it's 299 ) You can still sample/resample your sounds on your pc and then sequence them in the electribe. It all depends of your personal flavour. Maybe you should buy something cheap at first, see if you like it. If not, switch back to pc... grtz

and if you want to make acid, you'll need a TB303 (roland) or a similar clone (this one will cost you BIG) Digital 303 sounds totally different than the classic analog hardware version --- conclusion hardware: expensive software: FREE ;D btw: if you want Vst's, FX or audio software send me an e-mail I've got about 4Gb shared on slsk

you can always buy a midi-controller and use your pc with plugins as hardware... one with usb if you got that on your pc, then just open FL studio or cubase or whatever and you're set... you can find midi-controllers real cheap lately, i bought mine for 180 € and it's well-worth it + if it has a midi out you can later use it to sync your hardware synths, drumcomputers and more to your computer. a good midi-controller could be the ideal thing to get you started, you know how irritating it is to be tweaking cutoff resonance or filters with your mouse. with a decent controller you can control & record it all at the same time maybe the dutch folks @ synthforum.nl can give you some more advice
